Is it Possible?

rottenweiler9 Mar 26, 2007 09:58 AM

I was reading the thread below about the Gaboon bite. Its funny because I was going to ask if you would consider then a docile for a viper or vemous snake. I do not own any hots and do not plan on getting into them but was just curious. I like to come in here are read and see pictures of what you guys have. They are very interesting and cool looking. Could the snake have been conditioned to not use venoum if it was eating frozen rats. Is it possible that they know when to use and how much to use and if they bite the rat and it is already dead they just need to bite it to grab it not kill it. I am not sure if I am making sense.

Thank you

Jeff

I do not think this is something that can be taught by humans. But do snakes eat frozen/thawed without injecting any venom? Well i Have seen them take dead rats layed in the cage without striking them, though they could be injecting venom while walking them in. But I would even be willing to bet that in some cases CB snakes might actually stike and eat without venom injection.

However I do not know of any research on this one way or the other and am only speculating
