Getting my sulcata to eat...

ryjspahr Mar 29, 2007 06:25 PM

Hi there all, so I was able to finally get a sulcata, unfortunately the little guy doesn't seem interested in eating.

I have a vet appointment next Tuesday lined up, but am at my wits end now and am kinda nervous.

I've been soaking him for 15 minutes a day, offering him a chance to roam around outdoors for at least an hour daily (when I move April 1st he will have free reign of the backyard), but he won't touch the grass... doesn't even seem interested.

I also bought some tortoise diet from the store, nothing. Tried some fruit, nothing.... what do I do?

Thanks,
Ryan

I would try and offer some greens, My little guy loves mustard greens, Mine when I got him was only eating some red stuff that the store had them all, And for the first few days mine would not eat, eventually he got hungry enough and tried the greens and grasses and now he is a little pig, he eats constantly, I now only offer the greens every other day , grasses every day and he has regular grass that I grew in his enclosure and he grazes all day. I also planted clover he loves that in fact he falls asleep in the clover patches all the time. Jus tkeep offering and he will eat eventually. Good luck and i am sure he will be fine.
