Anyone in Texas?

reptoman Apr 05, 2007 05:04 PM

Hey I live in Medina County, I drove all over Uvalde and Zapata today road crusing and making plans for some areas to check out for a study I am doing. I found tons of red ant piles teaming with ants but I have yet to have seen a Texas Horned Lizard here in this area. I am constantly on the lookout, my notes tell me that for most of the "good" horned lizard years they seem to appear about April 15th, or I have recorded seeing them on a dirt road or at my in-laws house or when I was treking and I am just curious, its still a tad cool during the days and nights have chilled down some, just curious if anyone out there has observed any lately....Cheers!! With the flowers and the drought gone and everything green I am anticipating this should be a good year...............

Temps still too cool. Up to 81* at the hottest so far, but now....almost freezing again and we might actually get some light snow on Easter! No HLs yet. Plenty of Pogos.
