Daredevil Painted

I had to take out the half-log I had on top of my enclosure's basking area yesterday. I put it in so my turtles would have a place to go under to get cool without getting in the water. But every since I put it in, the only use it gets is from my Southern who climbs on top to bask.

The reason I took it out is because whenever he got down, he would just jump, which means he missed the water a lot of times. His shell was getting all scraped and gouged, so I just decided to take it out. I didn't want to, because he loved it so much, but I couldn't take his daredevil antics.

I put a little reptile hut in the bottom of the tank on the other side of the basking area. When company comes and wants to look at her she runs in there to hide and peeks out occasionally. Sometimes she just goes in there (maybe to get out of the "hot sun", or just to hide. She also sits on top of it now and then to look around. If I throw in a red wiggler, she grabs it and brings it into her little hut to eat it. She is the funniest baby, with loads of personality. She is an Eastern Painted, around 6 months old.
