I kept one years ago they are from arid regions of the middle east,mainly shy snakes which average at about 2 to 3 feet max.
They feed on lizards and rodents and should be handled with caution.

are they able to be free handled or are they to nervous?

mine was not nervous at all actually pretty tame in comparison to the other malpolon species.
