I have a pair of Fire Bellied Toads which breed quite often.
I have tried numerous methods to get the eggs to hatch - I have removed them from the frogs enclosure and incubated (74-78F) the eggs in a seperate aquarium, I have left them in the frogs enclosed. But no luck getting them to develope - if I look at the eggs under a microscope they appear to have begun developing but then stop since multiple cells can be seen in each embryo. The tank has a Fluval 1 filtration system but I have noticed lately that the ammonia leaves in the frogs cage is around 3 ppm - could this be the problem??. I have some moss and pathos plants in the encloser and use spring water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
