Odd colored Dekays in NC ?

guttersnacks Apr 18, 2007 12:34 PM

I went herping with some friends on Monday in coastal NC. Had a great day despite the wind and stuff.
This little guy was under a piece of plastic. I've never seen one this color before, they're always brown. Anyway, thought I'd share....
Enjoy!

It's a red belly snake. Very similar to the brown (Dekays) snake.

Nice little redbelly - S. occipitomaculata. I especially love those gray ones.

Thanks for the post,
Billy
