Is anyone on here working with, or have any experience with S. Salvinii or S. riporcatus? I just acquired an adult pair of S. salvinii and can't seem to find much info about them (breeding etc.)

Oops.. i meant triporcatus not riporcatus!
try austins turtle page, under the exotic turtle guide.
We have some at work. They seem to eat anything, but seem to prefer meat. Also can be very aggressive towards smaller turtles, even slightly smaller. The seem to be pretty active swimmers for mud/musk turtles so I recommend a large swimming area. Have yet to see them come out and bask.
hi Matt, if you only have 1.1 pair, you might want to keep them separate except for conjugal visits occasionally. (Have an article from a German breeder, the female Giant Musk lost an eye after being raised with the male).
If you have 1.2 or more females, then it's probably safer since the male has several females to distract him....
good luck,
Minh (I have 6 S. salvinii myself)
