Horned Lizards in Phelan area?

Lichanura Apr 25, 2007 11:49 AM

I have been told that there are HLs in the Phelan area (southern California high desert). I have lived here for a few years and I have yet to see one. Any one know if they are still around this area?

I live on five acres of preserved desert and have open desert around me. I thought that I would for sure find HL here. But not a one yet. Thanks for your response.

they can usually be found where harvester ants are in abundance and a sandy wash is near by, also May is the best time to find them around here its still slightly early and the weather hasnt been too warm til recently but good luck on finding 'em
