One day my turtle just started 2 climb stuff!! I dont know what the hell he is doing, i found him ontop of a wood cave that is well out of reach for him(shown in the message i last posted) and was sitting on top of it. now i have found him sitting on a dino skull in his tank with his eyes closed. He looked very dry and thought AST's didnt need to bask. Here is a picture of where he is and what he looks like.

Where he is and how he got there, i dont know

Your set up looks fine. I can't see any problems there. What's the water temp? What are you feeding him? Is he eating? Does his breathing seem heavy or labored? Mine went through a brief stage where he was basking but he seemed fine otherwise and eventually he stopped basking completely.

Alligator snappers don't bask unless there is a problem (usually respitory). Make sure that the water is heated to the right temp, there are no electrical currents coming off of any devices, no chems left over from a previous application / cleaning, etc. Most of the time that aquatics bask when they shouldn't, they've developed a respitory infection from too low or unstable water temps. Good luck.
