Orange Water Snake Found in Savannah, GA

GSNewsome Apr 27, 2007 08:34 PM

I suspect this is a Southern Water Snake, however I have not encountered one this color. This snake was orange with some slight markings on the top.

I have attached a picture that was captured from a video. Sorry for the quality.

What do you guys think - Could it be an orange Southern?

looks like a classic redbellied watersnake, nerodia e. erythrogaster;don't have a range map handy but i'm pretty sure they're found there.
