Sailfin dragon eggs ?'s Help!

liquidfire Apr 27, 2007 11:29 PM

Hi everyone,
I have sailfin dragons. There like water dragons if you don't know them. There is very little to find on them. My female just started laying eggs tonight. I need help with what to do. Does any one know how to tell if the eggs are even good. She is housed with a male so they could be. This is more of a surprize than anything. The incubation temp I would think would be close to that of the water dragon. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Steve
Oh, I was already setting up an incubator today I just need to know what temps.

Well, since you posted on Friday, and this is Sunday already - I hope you found what you needed . . . . I have a clutch of cwd that hatched 3 weeks ago. They are the funniest 'lil critters! Anyway, I had my incubator at around 84-86. I used several temp guages as well as several humidity guages, and split the difference.

I think if they are not any good, they will begin to dent and dry up pretty quick.

I don't keep sailfins, but I have kept waterdragons for many years.

From the only site I could find at the moment...here's how they say to incubate sailfin eggs...
http://aquario-terrario.superforum.fr/Terrariophilie-c4/Fiches-techniques-f24/Fiches-techniques-Sauriens-f43/Basiliscus-plumifrons-t125.htm
"Incubation sur substrat humide à 30°c et 80% d'hygrométrie"....even though its French I'm sure you can understand that the temp. is 30C and the humidity is about 80%.

Good luck! Sailfins are beautiful animals.

Thanks for the responces. I was able to get everything set up and going. I talked to the one breeder of them in the U.S.. His name is Scott and you can check out his website at www.sailfindragon.com . Very cool.
