Ahaetulla frontacincta Photos

I was in San Francisco last week and decided to check out the Steinhart Aquarium which is part of the California Academy of Sciences. They had an amazing exhibit featuring Burmese Vine Snakes (Ahaetulla frontacincta). The twenty-five plus specimens in the enclosure are the only snakes of their species in captivity and were collected in Myanmar by the late Joe Slowinski and his team. I was informed by a biologist at UCSF that this is the only non-aquatic snake species that is completely pescivorous. Here are a couple of photographs I took through the glass at the aquarium.

Cheers,
Nick
