Ok I got this newt at a show, the guy told me it was a blue tail fir belly. It looks like a firbelly but is brown instead of black and has a stripe going down its back.

What is it?

http://www.caudata.org/cc/species/Salamandridae.shtml

most likely Cynops cyanurus Blue-tailed Fire belly Newt, compare the pics there

also check out the rest of stuff on caudata.org the forum is being redesigned but still readable and should be running soon so you can register. there is more activity and lots of experienced newt keepers there
