Hey all, haven't been to these forums in about 5 years... Anyways i have a 8yr old argentine red tegu(male) ive had since he was a 6in long, now 3/12 ft. Awesome guy. Well found out this week im getting relocating for work from KC MIssouri to Fort Worth Texas and can not take him with me 
.I am leaving saturday to drive down there with my stuff, but returning next thursday to finish up a few things. so i was just trying to find someone or some place that would take him with open arms and take GREAT care of him. I can't put a price on him as he is priceless to me, so i will just give him to someone. I was thinking of maybe calling the ZOO? Or if you guys know anyone in KC Area that is experienced with these guys could you direct me to them. Also i have a custom built cage i will give with him for free, its a 6x4x4 and can be taken apart and reassembled(its three peices that all connect to make the cage.My email is, EricBabich@hotmail, or you can call me at 8162151338 please email or call if you can help, thanks!

I'm no where near you nor can i take another Tegu, but try www.thetegu.com this is a whole community to just tegus and their owners. Someone on there might be local and they have a classified add, best off its free and everyone on there loves tegus and wants whats best for them. Sorry you have to give up your pal after such a long time togeather.

But I cant take him, if it was a girl I could put her in with my 3ft male Arg.I really have too many animals now and just dont think I could squeeze in another.
You should consider calling the Manhattan zoo.I think that a red tegu would be a great addition.They have a very small collection of reptiles.In fact its funny that I own at least one of every reptile they have.I love going there and I would be able to see it too.
The Topeka zoo is pretty good too, they have a program where they take the reptiles to schools as well.I know they have two beaded lizards and a dumerils boa.They have a bunch of cages but the reptiles are always out with the educ. program so Im not sure what all they have.
