i am interested in buying a 6-7ft african rock python from a lady who lives in Michigan...the problem is that i live in PA and i cant pick it up...

she said she would consider shipping him to me if i could explain to her how to ship...

can anyone give me instructions on shipping a snake of that size and approximate costs?

also, which company do you suggest ? Delta, Fedex, etc?

If she doesn't know how to ship, it is highly unlikely that she is certified to ship through any carrier. You are better off finding an experienced shipper in her area to handle shipping for both of you. Delta is probably your best bet but they charge a minimum of $75-$80. You are looking at more than that for an animal of that size.
