Escape artist cobra... some suggestions?

thantos May 17, 2007 03:14 PM

This is a weird thing that started about a week ago. When all the lights go off, I start to hear a *thud* about every 3 mins or so. I went in and found my monocled making short sprints at the glass to get out. She'll stop once I am looming over her and looking at her, but will begin again for a while when I leave. I'm a little worried she'll hurt herself if she keeps doing it. I'm pretty sure that she isn't strong enough to break the glass, but who knows.

I am looking for suggestions to get her to stop. Has anyone dealt with this before and succesfully stopped the snake from charging glass?

My guesses...

A) Provide a better hide box

B) Provide a larger enclosure

If she wants out that badly there is usually a reason. She eaither feels cramped or wants a better hiding place.

As I said...with no specifics those are just guesses based on what you posted.

i would agree with viperPB. on the topic of hides and housing. do you own any other cobras? she could just be in late heat. when i have a cobra that really wants out. i cover the cage in newspaper so they dont know the exit. try that.
