grgl89 May 20, 2007 04:15 PM

my firebelly toads dont make noises, yet anyways...i have 3,one is rounded bigger then the others and im pretty sure its a male but i cant tell what the other two are. i only got them last week...anyone know how old they have to be to be able to breed, and also what setup you should have in order to get them to lay eggs? right now i have a 15 gallon with moss and a big bowl with about 2 inches of water in it. I'm also using one 15W moonlight bulb and one 15W sun glo bulb and i have a plant in the corner for them to hide in if they want to.

9 Months is when they usually are old enough to start breeding. You'll know if you have any males when they start croaking or you see amplexus. the one on top is male. They might not lay eggs without a lot of water. During amplexus, the female carries the male into the water where he will squeeze the eggs out of her.
