NG or Aussie (part 2 for Mizzy)

Dragonlord86 May 25, 2007 06:49 PM

Well.. after having bought the first frill last week, i had to buy his brother... I talked to the breeder and he said the father was a red NT aussie, and the mother was a Queensland silver/black phase.. the first one is more like the mother, with the fathers frill coloring, while this one is more like the father..

Here are some pics i took today of him..

he's a year and a half, about 21 inches total, and way less aggressive than his brother.. anyway, enjoy all!

Thats a good looking animal, but obviously doesnt look related. So are we comparing apples and oranges. You asked for an opinion; I gave you one. This male doesnt look like a cross. It very well could be, but again that is my opinion. Let me know if you have babies.....

Hmm... What are the tell-tale signs of an Aussie.. like is there any definite trait that is only carried by Aussie's and not in NG's? I know there are probably less than 1% pure 100% Aussie's in the US and that most breeding projects with them have to eventually be out bred to NG's so a good amount of Aussies are probably crosses... but other than the white spots on the cheeks/frill area, is there anything else that signifies that it's an Aussie/part Aussie?
