wood turtle nesting

matt82402 May 30, 2007 01:09 AM

My female wood turtle dug a nest yesterday ..very neat watching her dig it out with her back leg. She took a break when she was done digging so I got a picture of the hole . I was impressed with how much dirt was actually removed from that small opening . When it got home from work she already had her eggs laid and buried them.

Wow, nice hole. The holes I see are usually the same diameter at the top as the bottom. She is definately a pro. CHEERS!
