I'm moving to Shreveport w/ my buddies..

I'm moving to shreveport in July & will be bringing my Beardies & Sulcatas. Are there any regulations I should be aware of? (I have read the legislative info on the Exotic Pet Owners Ass. Site). Are there any suggestions for transporting them (I'll be driving from California)? Are there any recommendations for good reptile stores in the area? I noticed that a northern chapter of LGCHS had been established in Nov. '06, is it still there? Any info would be much appreciated. Thank You.

... a veterinarian health certificate for your G. sulcata if you want to be truely legit. There was a law some years ago about transporting African Spurred, Leopard and Hingeback Tortoises across state lines. There was an outbreak of heartwater disease in cattle that they suspected to be from imported specimens of these species.

I don't know of any stores that specialize in reptiles in your area.

Good luck with the move!

Have you made it into the Shreveport area yet? The northern group of the LGCHS is still in existence. Our next meeting is October 2nd at 7pm. We meet the first Tuesday of every month at Critter Co. on Benton road in Bossier City.
