Turtle Bit when on vacation

Roswel1 Jun 20, 2007 09:48 PM

My one red ear slider was bit on the loose skin under his neck. The skin is seperated in a u shape and the edge is tinted a lite brown color. He eats and basks. I just got home from a weeklong vacation and noticed it. What should I do?

You can put some iodine on it, but make sure it's usuable for reptiles. Or just call any old vet and ask them to make sure.

Either way, just make sure it doesn't get infected, and DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN, meaning, you might have to separate the culprit.

Thanks for the tip. This morning the area seemed to be healing ok and was pink in color. The brown part was all gone.
