Canton/Akron Area

Hi. I live in Canton OH and have lived here for alomst 2 years. I come from NM where hiking was more my sport and hobby. Field Herping has recently become a fun hobby of mine and I would like to keep it up. I haven't had much luck lately. Does anyone have any good advice for in and around Canton? Are there any groups in this area who venture out on any field trips? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to Ohio. Your best bet would be the Northern Ohio Association of Herpetologists (NOAH). They are in the Cleveland area. You just missed Nerodio. It is the yearly survey of nerodia, specifically the Lake Erie Watersnake, that Kristin Stanford from the Stone Ecology Lab does every year. NOAH's website is below.
