New Naturalistic Anole Viv -- pics!

Volksdragon Jun 23, 2007 02:15 PM

I've finished the vivarium that will house a pair of Green Anoles. It's an Exo-Terra glass 18x18x24" terrarium.

The Anoles will be coming sometime after the fourth of July. My family and I are going on vacation to Chicago before then, and not only will that give the plants some time to take, but I can make sure I've got the temps and humidity right before the anoles are added. I'll be putting the two anoles into two seperate quarantine cages for about a week.

Anyway, picture attached. More pictures--(copy/paste into adress bar if links don't work.)

It's basically finished. I may go out and get a few more small artificial vines to give the occupants a bit more arboreal space.

Looks very nice! I have one completed of the same size. Bowser loves it - he's green WAY more and much more active than in his old cage of similar size (but with no live plants). I've just purchased two more, one for each anole. Can't wait to get started building them.

The plants have grown in quite a bit now. The pepperomia on the left is up to the ceiling - it's his favorite hangout.

I have made a terrarium like this myself which I am saving for a pair of D. Leucomeleus. But how would you clean the terrarium for the anole? Is it the same in respect to the fact that the feces fertilizes the terraium? thank you.
