What kind of turtle is this?

Reptile-fanatic Jun 26, 2007 10:01 AM

The Petshop i work with just recieved this turtle. All we were told was what it ate and that it was an African species.

I'm sorry I don't have a picture yet, but I can describe it in detail. It has a dark brown/green shell, and is almost a foot long already. Its neck is very, very long, which I believe makes it some sort of snake-neck turtle. Its most striking feature is its charcoal colored head, which sports an orange W atop its entire surface.

I might be able to get a pic later today.

check this ....it's not a snake-neck but it's the only turtle I can think of with an orange W on the head
(Rhinoclemmys punctularia punctularia) which is a South American wood turtle there is a couple other sub-species but this is the most common
