Beautiful snakes. Have you had any luck feeding them yet?
I currently have one male Boiga dendrophila dendrophila, which is an awesome snake. He is a mean bugger, but a beauty and a joy to watch. If you want to talk to more Boiga keepers check out the forums on venomdoc.com.
Good luck, with your new charges!

Thanks Roy ..I'll do that!!...

With regard to feeding he takes small/medium mice assisted though!!...this was explained and demonstated by the dealer I bought him from.

Grats on the beautiful Boiga there. I just got my first one (a WC boiga dendrophila) a little over a month ago. He's about 4' now and seems to be very well-adjusted and actually quite calm during handling as long as I don't restrain him too much. Hoping to get a couple pics taken of him next weekend.

Cheers,

Steve

First time in a loooooooooooong time i've linked a photo so hope it works. If it does, this is my boiga I finally snapped a shot of. Not sure how to post more than one pic at a time and didn't want to make multi posts.

Nice snake!!! ...you need a licence (DWA) to keep Boiga denrophila in the U.K. at the moment...However I've heard it is coming off the list soon, but they are putting Boiga irregularis on in its place!!
How do you guys who own denrophila find it??...is it nasty? are bites serious??

My dendrophila is pretty mean, as are most I think. He was calm when I first got him as an import, but that was probably because he wasn't feeling very well. Now that he's parasite free and eating, he's pretty defensive. He spends most of the time hiding, so I wouldn't say they are good display snakes. I did a stupid thing and got a pretty serious bite(he got me right in the crook of my elbow and chewed a bit), and the venom burned and my arm swelled for a couple of days and it felt tingly like that pins and needles asleep feeling, but after a few days it was perfectly fine. I'd recommend them to someone who has kept snakes before.

Yeah...I take your point!
They (B.dendrophila)are going to be in demand when they come off the DWA list in October (I think!!) over here in Britain.
Its interesting that Boiga irregularis is going onto the list..I think I've read of fatalities in children on Guam??

My Boiga has been pretty hit & miss as far as aggression goes. Sometimes he's really calm and seems to be fine with handling and other times he is a little nippy but hasn't gotten hold of me yet.
I know lots of people say they're pretty skittish and not good display animals but, i've found with semi low light levels at night, he doesn't seem to mind letting me watch him move around and even feed while i'm sitting right there.
I found mine through an online ad from a store in California. I think was LLReptiles or something like that.
