Hi. I love yellow mud turtles, too. I just (along w/my friend) bought "Henrietta," our little yellow mud turtle in June 2007. She lives in our 10-gallon aquarium. I'm a little concerned about her, though. I clean her tank very regularly, and I feed her earthworms, mealworms, frozen (I thaw it a little first) shrimp, and petshop turtle food. Lately, she has not been eating well. Is there someone who might have some experience w/yellow mud turtles who could help me? I do not know if any vets in my area specialize in the care of reptiles, and I do not know if she has any parasites. I did get her from our pet store, so I do not think she would develop parasites. I am very perplexed, and quite concerned for her welfare....Can someone help me? Thanks so very much, tigerann or someone can email me at horsesof2006@yahoo.com

i really wouldn't panic sometimes they slow down eating for any number of reasons. It may be tired of the foods you feed it.
What is the temp you keep it at? somtimes it gets to cool or to hot it may stress the animal(this is not good). You can check with local vets, to see if they'll look at turtles, via phonebook but with turtles it is hard to tell. More then likely it is wild caught so it could be parsites look for any worms or things floating in the water when it passes a stool.
