Is this illegal?

Hello, this fool on youtube put a rattlesnake into the bath tub with a kingsnake and filmed it being killed. He claimed it was mojave rattlesnake I'm not sure as I am no means a snake expert. However, I found the video disturbing it kind of reminded of the morons who participate in dog fighting. If it is a mojave aren't they a protected species? Are there laws against doing this kind of thing? The link to the video is below...

It's a good thing the dumb ass didn’t fall into the tub. Watching the video, it looked like he almost lost his footing a few times! I also noticed his toes hanging over the side.
While I don’t see any difference between feeding your snake a live mouse or another live reptile. I thought the way the kid did it was very irresponsible.
I prefer pre-killed food when feeding my snakes. However when I was a teen, I found it fascinating to watch the snake hunt and kill its food. Now I feel sad for the food and prefer pre-killed. I wonder where the kid’s parents were, and if they knew that their kid was playing such a dangerous game!

What should be illegal is allowing those two to breed. I've listened to some ignorant people before, but those two take the cake. The talk about cutting the snakes head off shows how much "Nature Deficit Disorder" our young people have.
Very disturbing
