P.. klemmeri...How much for a pair?

Turtlestork Jul 01, 2007 01:12 PM

I am in the market for a gecko. I was considering tokays, but after some talk i think i want a day gecko. I was looking at neon day geckos, P. klemmeri, and they are so very pretty! Do you guys know how much one would cost and how much a pair would cost? I just want a beautiful animal and madagascar day geckos are great, and i would go for them, too, but these neons are just beautiful.

To be frank, a pair of klemmeri will go for whatever the breeder wants for them. Klemmeri are one of the most highly sought after Phelsuma species and breeders don't have to wait until they're sexable, to "move" them. In addition, most breeders would rather keep a female back, rather than sacrifice having her in a pair. I've seen some sexables floating around (mostly males), but pairs are rarely available publicly. I'd expect paying at least $350-400 for a young pair though...

they go for about 400 pr, 150 unsexed. Prices vary, as Haroldo said, I have a few eggs in the incubator from my trio, but I doubt i'll let any go. There are enough out there, but most breeders dont want to let them go.
Think about Phelsuma before buying any, I suggest starting with a larger, hardier species before getting too into the genus.
Phelsuma klemmeri are also very small geckos.
