Whats wrong with my frogs eye??

thecrimsonghost Jul 02, 2007 07:35 PM

Its only happening to one side and its sort of a milky/hazy covering over her eye. Her eye isnt buldging out or bleeding or anything like that.

Any ideas of what it could be and/or how to treat it??

If you can take it to a vet, or at least call a vet and talk to them (a professional) regarding the cloudy eye. They might be able to recommend a good medicine for your frog. I know that a lot of fish medicines can be given to frogs, but at different doses, so talking to vet hopefully they can recommend a medicine and tell you the correct dose. The cloudy eyes can be a bacterial infection, and I think that if you don't treat it could cause permanent damage. I posted a link with lists of vets, you can look at where you are located and try getting a hold of a vet. Best of luck. Hope your frog gets better.

It could be several things:
he could scratched his eye on something.
He could have an infection
He could have too much fat in the diet.

What is he eating, and how much? I would suggest taking in a stool sample to a vet to test for any infections. Call up the vet tell him you need a stool sample done. Basically you want to just bring in the sample not the frog. When a frog is sick the stress of being removed from the case and put in a container and then taken to a vet can kill it, so it should only be done as a last resort.
