Starting off my vacation...

on the right foot.

I went downstairs to do some last minute watering and found some gloydi eggs and 9 Elaphe longissima eggs (or Zamenis longissimus for the purists). Thanks to Gregg Feaster for providing the stock for this project. Now I'll have some interesting photos to post later on this year.

Regards
John

Terry:

I'll definitely post any longissima that hatch. They are neat looking when young. The pattern and color change is a nice feature. Of course I shouldn't count my chickens (or ratsnakes) before they hatch.

Best regards
John

John,

How many longissima eggs do ya' have?

I have six bimaculata eggs I'm waiting on. Can't wait to see what the pairing produces.

Terry:
Surprisingly for a young female I got a clutch of nine good looking eggs from her. Of course only time will tell if I end up with anything.

Congrats on the bimac eggs. I look forward to any photos you want to share.

The only herp life I saw or heard in Maine were frogs. I was right next to a giant wetland. But any thought I might have had about going in was instantly suppressed by some of the nastiest mosquitoes I've ever felt.

I hope you are having a nice summer.

Regards
John

Nine eggs sounds like a pretty good clutch...congrats!

Were getting ready to head out on vacation to AZ on Friday. Here's a pic of our AZ pad...

Hope we see some rats and kings while we're there and come home to some new babies.

Have a good rest of the summer...
