Hello All,
Has anyone raised a Red, Yellow Foot using Mazuri Tortoise Diet as a staple? Thanks, AB

I have never been able to get my two yellow foots to eat any palliated foods. I suggest a diet with Mazuri Tortoise Diet and a large range of other foods would make a balanced tortoise diet.

I feed mine on fresh grass (I grow on my windowsill in takeaway containers. I just put the green grass into their run and my torts graze on it. I also give them a piece of fruit or mushroom every day and their shells has grown evenly.

I have read somewhere some (Not sure about Mazuri) have put addictive ingredients into their feed and people have lost Torts while trying to take them off commercially produced pellets.

i first tried mazuri after some posters here recommended it, and my redfoot went absolutely bonkers for it. it became his absolute favorite food.

this got to be more of a problem, though, as he'd eat his mazuri, and leave the rest of his food behind. if i only gave him mazuri with his salads every other day or so, he'd wait til a "mazuri day" and pig out.

i therefore quit feeding it to him after the last of it ran out in the interest of him getting a more varied diet. he "pouted" (quit eating) for a couple of days, and then he went back to business as usual, eating his salads, when i suppose he got hungry enough.
