best setup for a grey tree frog?

blankminded Jul 11, 2007 10:28 PM

I was hoping i could get some tips on how to set up my grey tree frogs new home. Im moving them from a 12x12x12 exoterra into a big 37 gallon tank. There old home was fully planted with all live plants. I wanna do the same in there new home but dont know how to go about it. I was thining about doing the bottom either all soil and a huge water dish or all water bottom and mount a background with pots. Anya nd all advice would be great. Some pics of your own setup would also be great.

thanks

Well, they are tree frogs, so an all water bottom is out. Maybe 1/4 water, but the rest they need as land to hunt for their food and such.

If you're going the dish route, you may want to put down a bit of gravel and then cover it with eco-earth or bed-a-beast and then plant your plants. Ones like Pothos are nice because they have stong leaves to hold them while they're climbing and for sleeping on.

If you need to use heat (you need gauges for humidity and temps)then make sure you have a warm and cool side and hides on both for them to move to.

Those reptivines work nice especially when you twist a couple different sized ones together and leave gaps. Then you can train the pothos vines up them, it helps to fill the upper void in the tank.

There are people with grays I believe over on the repticzone treefrog forum if you'd like to hop on over
