Changed my mind

e&t Jul 14, 2007 04:57 PM

Well, I recently found out that I may have access to a 55 gallon tank pretty soon, and I don't really want to use that much space for only a pair of Azureus so I think I'm gonna go with D. Leucomelas, hopefully a group of about 5. My 10 gallon tank will most likely be used for a couple tincs.

Good choice. The group of leucs will do well in a 55.

Well, I found out today that I won't be able to use the 55. We're gonna put rattlesnakes in it. However, I still have a 29 that I plan to use. I'll downsize the group if I have to, but that's the question: would the group of 5 leucs be ok in a 29? Or should I take a couple off? The setup will probably stay the same: lots of driftwood, some bromeliads, gravel under coconut fiber, a fluorescent light, and saran wrap over half of the top for humidity. Is this setup suitable, and could a group of 5 leucs be ok in there? Thanks for your help.

3 or 4 would probably be O.K. in there. I don't like to push the numbers toward crowding at all. If you're using Saran Wrap over a screen, you might find that to keep up the proper humidity, you will need to cover the entire top for most of the time, with just a small

Ok, thanks. Covering the whole top with saran wrap is no problem. I was just worried about ventilation. Also, kocking the number of frogs down to 3 or 4 is good for me, cause it takes the cost down. I'll probably do 3 just because my OCD makes me have some thing about odd numbers. Thanks for the info!
