Daytona shipping?

dave763 Jul 17, 2007 07:00 PM

If I buy a Ball python at the expo in Daytona, will the breeder offer shipping? I am flying back home. Can the snake come on the plane? What would be the best way to get my new snake home?

Thanks for any help, Dave

No, you cannot LEGALLY take the snake back home on the plane with you, even in your checked luggage.
Your best bet is, buy from a vendor who ships, and ask them to ship it to you on a day you choose.

there is nothing illegal about taking the snake back home on the plane.

Different airlines have different policies. What you have to do is check with the airline first on their policies about bringing pets on board in the cabin or find out if it will have to be shipped in the luggage area or if it won't be allowed on the plane at all. If you call and know in advance that they will or will not allow you to bring the snake on board, then you will know in advance if you have to arrange separate shipping of the animal when you are at the show.

I had a friend who moved out to California.. her mother had called the airline and they had no problem being allowed to bring a corn snake and gecko on the plane. They had been told that each animal had to be in secure containers that then could fit in a small cat carrier.
