Is there a difference between a fluorescent light and UVB or are they one in the same? I currently have a fluorescent light. Do I need a separate one for UVB? Sorry, this is all new to me... Thanks.

They are not the same. Fluorescent lights like for an aquarium
do not give off UVB. Buy a Reptisun 5.0. They will be
very expensive in the petshops so I would recommend ordering
them on line. Don't forget you also
need a bssking area. You can use a regular light bulb of the
appropriate wattage to get the basking area to 85-90 degrees.
You can use a fixture for the Reptisun bulb from any home
improvement store. Make sure you replace it every 6 months.
UVB is essential to turtles!

I would highly recommend that you get on the internet and
reseach care and diet. It is crucial.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the tips. She does have a nice basking area but the petstore said all I needed for the light source was the Exo Terra Repti-Glo Fluorescent Light. I noticed on the box it says nothing about UVA or UVB but when I looked online it does. It confused me so I wanted to make sure I have the correct light source. In any case, I just ordered the Reptisun 5.0 last night to be on the safe side. Thanks.

You can't go wrong with the Reptisuns. I have always used
them for my turtles and iguanas.
