How log is venom active?

1. How long is venom potent or dangerous if exposed to air? example of venom on snake tongs.
2. what should be used to clean venom contaminated tongs?

Venom is fully active until it is denatured, at least that's how I understand it and how I treat it. I'm sure certain proteins are denatured by light and possibly by dehydration, but I can't tell you if they all are. To denature venom, I use bleach. Hope that helped!
