well the 2 coachwhips i caught would musk then put there head on the groundand act dead not moving at all then id play aroun with them and they would be zipping all over the place

I've heard of coachwhips playing dead, but I've never seen it. My two westerns will death roll like a crocodile (that's A LOT of fun...), and my female likes to strike the face, she's got pretty good aim too
My male's pretty laid back by comparison.
What state do you live in, if you don't mind me asking?

Yes, they do play dead as one method of defence. I observed that with 2 different subspieces. The first time freaked me out because we had it in the car with us for about 2 hours & I thought something was wrong with it. The snake was okay : D
sorry for not getting back to yall i was at my grandmas i live in oklahoma and i believe they were eastern coachwhips. man there so fun to obserb
