RED EYED TREE FROG AGAIN

hiphopisdead167 Jul 25, 2007 11:52 AM

1. WHAT OTHER ANIMALS BEHAVE WELL WITH RED EYES?

2. HOW BAD IS IT FOR THE WATER LEVEL TO BE SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE PEAT MOSS LEVEL?

3. THE EXOTERRA LARGE WATERFALL, WHERE THE WATER COMES OUT AT THE TOP, IT KINDOF RUNS OFF THE SIDE OF IT A LITTL BIT AND IM LOSING WATER FROM THE WATERFALLL AND ITS RAISING THE WATERLEVEL OF THE TANK. IS THERE ANY SYNTHETIC MATERIAL I CAN USE TO BUILD UP THE SPOT A LITTLE BIT SO THE WATER DOESNT RUN OFF , AND WITHOUT IT BEING TOXIC TO MY FROGS?

Do not mix any other species together. Bad news. One or the other or both will eventually die.

It's hard to get what you mean about the tank without a picture. You definitely don't want moss underwater.

You could use silicone and glue some rock to it or use Great Stuff covered by silicone, that all requires removing it from the tank and several days of curing before it goes back into the tank.

You don't have them in this tank yet do you? They will stress easily from messing around with the tank. You should have the tank running properly for a few weeks before putting them in.

I mean mixing species would result in one or the other dying, you just don't put different species together. There are all kinds of reasons, dominance/guarding of water or food, different pathogens and parasites that hurt the others etc.

If you need to make a change in the tank with silicones or GS then it needs to cure and air out for several days, the fumes will kill them.

You would need a temporary tank, like spare 10-20 gal tank or even a Rubbermaid of the same size (make sure it is gallons not quarts ie...40qts=10gal 80qts=20gal) It needs to have ventilation, just put paper towel down and a water dish and hides and fake plants. It is fine for a few days.
