Homemade Cage Furniture?

militantagnostic Jul 29, 2007 04:40 PM

Earlier this year I purchased a 70 gallon aquarium for my Columbian tegu as his final cage. I have been pleased with it so far with the exception of the fact that I would like some different cage furniture to put inside. Right now he is using the same furniture that was in his old cage and it seems like all I have done is increased the space between his hiding place, sunning rock and water dish. Right now I have alot of spare ply wood and various lumber and I was wondering about places where I can get some ideas about what I could build to flesh out his cage.

Thanks in advance.

Well, first thing that came to mind when reading this was that 70 gallons is going to be way to small for an adult colombian tegu. My 30 inch female is in a cage 6.5' x 2.5' x 2.5 and she uses every single inch of it.

Here's a pic so you can have an idea of how I have been keeping and her cage furnishings.
