To keep ants out. - Liquid Metal

Is it okay to you this under my tank to keep ants out? I have one like this that meets the dimensions of the tank I have.

As long as there is no part (side) of the tank touching the plastic, that would be fine. Originally, I did it exactly like that but decide not to for several reasons. One, if there is a crack in the bottom of the tank, water would leak in. Two, you would have to fill lots of water to make sure no parts on the side of the tank touch the plastic. Three, if the sides are only an inch apart, ants will not be able to but daddy long legs will. There were more but those are what I remember.
