Brown Anole, Help!!!!

amitburst Aug 18, 2007 12:41 AM

I'm not here to post any questions about taking care for Anoles or anything like that.

I'm 14 years old, and I bought 2 Brown Anoles a few months ago, and I have enjoyed them since. The reason I bought them was to show to my parents that I could be responsible, but I have realized now that the responsible thing to do would be to not let them live in a small cage for the rest of their lives.

My question is; should I just let them free, or are there any other options for my pets to live a better life?

I'm not just trying to get rid of the heavy burden of taking care of these 2 lizards, they truly mean a lot to me, and letting go of them is really hard for me...

If anyone has any answers to my question, they are greatly appreciated!

You say "small cage" but what size terrarium are they in now? A pair should not be kept in no less than a 20 gallon. You should not let them go; If possible try aquiring a bigger terrarium.

They live in a fairly big terrarium, I suppose I could buy a larger one. I'm not trying to sound like I just don't want them, but wouldn't they be happier if they were free? This is about them, not me.

Unless you live in Cuba or the Bahamas, don't let them go!!

Haha, I live in neither.

Thank you though!

I won't let them go now.
