I think I would worry about using the Blood boa in other Blood boa projects. They're one of the "hot" items these days, so I'd go with that. Outside of that, how long ago did albino common boas come out? How many times do you think someone has tried to get this trait into the Dumerils?? I'm not going to say it would "never" work, but since we've never seen....what would you call them....albino Columerils, Dumbians, or whatever clever name they would be called, I'd say it's probably a waste of your time. But good luck if you decide to try it. If it worked, I think you would get a cross that had more red in it, could be the ulgiest thing you've ever seen, could be awesome, no way to know. I know Kev at NERD puts a lot of effort into projects like this, maybe he can give you some good tips. Also, you could produce mules. Have fun!

Have you even produced Nics before! I am not a fan of artificial hybridization in snakes, and this especially applies to dumeril's which are too threatened in the wild to export.

Blood Boas are an El Salvador morph.

There are some that are 50% Nicaraguan, the Berry Bloods. John Berry had a Nic female that proved out as het Blood.

Most of the Bloods out there are related to the Blood X Salmon breeding Rich Ihle did years ago.

El Salvador boas are just as small as Nicaraguan boas.

The Blood morph originated with Ron St. Pierre. The founder stock was imported from El Salvador. Ron eventually sold all of his boas, the majority of his Bloods went to Tracy Barker of VPI. Numerous breeders bought from Tracy and Ron to build their stock.

Rich Ihle of Salmonboa.com bought his Blood male from Ron long ago and bred it to one of his Salmon females.

In 2004 the hets produced by the Blood X Salmon breeding produced the first Bloody Salmons. Among those DH X DH breedings Bill Kirby also bred an El Salvador Blood X DH to produce 75% El Salvador Blood boas.

In 2006 John Berry produced a litter from a Blood X Nicaraguan breeding. The female Nic was an import, however ended up being an unknown het. Thus the Berry Bloods.

There are not any pure bred Nicaraguan Blood boas.

This lineage follows just the main stream, I have plenty more info if you would like to know more. My website categorizes all the boa morphs and will show what locale they came from, and who first produced them and in what year.

The best colors will likely come from other CA boas. Those Bloods from the Bloody Salmon lineage are often brown or orange as adults and not the deep red.

Keep in mind any plans will span two generations to pan out.
