Nerodia dropping eggs!

Lenrely Aug 29, 2007 12:10 PM

My female which is a proven breeder just laid 23 small, gummy orange eggs. I have several hypotheses for this. 1, she is ovulating but was never fertilized. 2, the antibiotics I give her for eye infection are killing them. 3, she mated with a black rat snake (unlikely). 4, she is getting old. Has anyone ever seen this?

those are slugs, also called jelly beans. they are unfertilized eggs...she ovulated and didn't breed....I have had a couple garters do that.
