Basilisks jaw looks bad!!!

Look at my lizards mouth in this pic. I don't know if this is rub or something worse. He has had if for a while now. I was hoping that cleaning it would make it go away. PLEASE HELP!!!!

I must ask, if he has had it for a while, why aren't you taking him to the vet?
It could be a rub-wound. It could be a vitamin deficiency. It could be a burn. It could be a really bad infection. He may need antibiotics, better supplements, protection from the light bulb hanging above him, any number of things. A vet would need to check this out. It looks painful at the very least.

I took him to the vet. He said it looked like rub but wasn't sure. I have been rubbing it with betadine. It goes away then comes back. I have been leaving his door open so he has free roam. It has seemed to go away now. I'm thinking it is rub from the mess cage. He always rubs his face on it if I don't leave it open.
