Proper Diet For A Cuban Night Anole

stano40 Sep 01, 2007 10:08 AM

What is the proper diet for a Cuban Night Anole?

Also, which is correct, Cuban night Anole or Cuban Knight Anole?

I'm reading a few care sheets on the internet with some mixed results.

I am curious as to what has been found by other Anole Keepers and what they have experienced on this diet.

Thank You,

Anolis equestris is properly known as the Knight Anole. They have been labeled Cuban Anoles (but there are dozens of anole species in Cuba!) and Cuban Knight Anoles. Yes, they will eat fruit. I have a trio now that love green and red grapes, blue berries and sliced apples. I generally put some fruit in their food dishes along with the crickets or superworms (primarily did that at first for the bugs to have something to eat/drink until they were eaten). Hope that helps.

How do you feed Pinkies to a Knight Anole? Do you warm them in a cup of hot water like you feed a snake? Or how do they prefer them?
