Import from the US

Chondrotime Sep 01, 2007 10:17 PM

Hello Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has ever imported chondros or womas from the states, obviously captive bred. If so what do you know about having them shipped to canada? Do you require a Cites permit? I did some research and checked out the form on the cites site and it just looks like a form you need to mail in ect but still a little confused. If anyone could shed some light it would be great.

Most likely the shipper will need to get a Cities permit to send you a snake if it is on a Cities list. If it isn't listed then they don't need a permit to ship it. However not everybody who ships to Canada will bother getting a permit which means you risk the animal being stopped at the border.

Personally I will just find a Canadian breeder for the snakes you want to get. Its cheaper in the long run.
