California King

regnadkcin Sep 20, 2007 02:34 PM

I picked up a baby California King an the Raleigh NC Reptile show. I haven't been able to get the little blighter to eat yet. I would have never guessed a California King could be hard to get started. It supposedly had eaten twice but at this point I have my doubts.

Some can be. Depends upon the clutch and the genes that went into it.

Try live if you haven't.

I've had some eat a few times and then skip two or three meals before eating again - that also isn't uncommon.

You can try placing him with the pinki inside a small paper bag with the top closed. Then check it after an hour.

My little girl was giving me some trouble recently, but I discovered that she prefers to eat alone, in the private darkness of her room. I put her in with her mice, leave the room, and when I come back in, no mice and a happy fat snake. ^_^ I feed her F/T, of course.
