Question about my new rosy

almitra Sep 27, 2007 10:20 PM

We've had our rosy for 1 week. He's beautiful, very healthy, appropriately active, and has already enthusiastically fed twice. However, he has not yet had a bowel movement. My experience with snakes was years ago, and I never had a rosy before, so my question is, is this normal?

in my experience it takes seven to twelve days for the food items to pass and sometimes longer, if they pass their food any quicker it can be a sign of a problem. such as being too warm and digesting their food too fast. I am sure that was more of an answer than you were looking for. but do not worry your snake is doing what it is supposed to do.

my rosy normally has bowel movments within 2 or 3 days of eating but i only feed him pinies and smaller fuzies and most recently a far more larger fuzzie which i dont know if hes "gone" yet does size of the prey matter when it comes to this kind of thing?
