Local resources?

I'm pretty new to retiles, and have caught the bug. I've done research online, read various forums and such, but was wondering what there was in the way of local resources for learning more about reptiles? I've found general husbandry information on my specific breed of snakes, but I'd love to chat with some experienced herpers. Genetics, breeding, handling, husbandry, the whole nine yards.

It doesn't look like there are any local meetings, or a website for the OHS. Is there an active scene in Oregon? I live out in Sandy. Oh, and I own a Jungle Carpet Python, and a Jaguar Coastal Carpet Python.

I haven't heard of any meetings, but I don't really go looking, either.

I talk to local shops and stuff about the questions the internet can't answer adequately. House of Reptiles is a pretty good resource, I bought my white lip from them and they seem pretty knowledgeable. The shop is clean and the animals are healthy.

I found it hard to find a reptile specialty shop via the phone books and internet. Someone at another pet store mentioned the name while I was there, so I went to check it out.

The show was very helpful. Lots of breeders around with some highly unusual snakes, LOTS of helpful advice, and for some reason, a violin salesman.

A friend of mine had a black phase white lipped, I wonder who ended up with it here locally. Nice snake, and not too many around here I think.

I found House of Reptiles, and Rose City Reptiles locally, but have yet to visit either. I'm going to try and make it in this week end as I really need to get a cage and set up for my Jag.

Nice pics of the show, and nice idea for the cage set up. I'm working on designing a few larger show cages, but can't find sheets of Acrylic larger than 4'.

Here's a couple shots of my Jag and Jungle. Both are about 4 months old.
